And she’s off again…
I feel like a real jet-setter these days. Posted in Uncategorized by Carter : May 31, 2008 - 10:20am
Margot Potter rocks
For all of you craft people out there, and for those of you who want to be craft but feel a bit, well, clueless, I have a video to share. Fellow crafty female Margot Potter, aka The Impatient Crafter, has started making these how-to craft videos. They are purely entertaining and very informative. Margot is a jewelry designer, author, musician, and crafty person extraordinare (how do you spell that word? This looks funny, but spellcheck won’t fix it, what did we do before computers?) whose work I have stumbled upon through my work with Bead Trust. If you want to be entertained, stop by Margot’s blog every day (yes, every day…she’s on top of it!). She is a reliable blogger who always has real, thought-provoking, interesting stories to share. And she’s funny to boot. So on with the Glitterati Skull Earrings and Ring video. If you like what you see, be sure to drop by her blog and let her know! Another journey comes to a close
Sorry to have left you high and dry. It’s been a busy week, and I actually had some time to take a little break, for a few days, so I decided to let it all go…blog and everything. I haven’t even made jewelry for four days! I had a great show in Gibson Island, MD, as well as a great visit with family. Here’s a picture of me with all of my jewels at the show: There’s something so comforting and calming about being at home and being with family; and the older I get, the more I feel blessed that I have a family that gets along. Actually, saying that we “get along” is an understatement. We’re the best of friends. Across the generations, across the family lines, we’re all friends, and we all look out for each other. And that’s pretty special. I am so blessed and thankful that I have a grandmother who I can still laugh and giggle with. Here’s one of the best and most flavorful evenings of our trip: Posted in Uncategorized by Carter : May 22, 2008 - 5:01pm

Pirates of Somalia and Why don’t I just make beads?!
Isn’t it kind-of crazy that there are still pirates? Posted in Uncategorized by Carter : May 5, 2008 - 4:09pm
I’ll have a glass of whine with that, please!
Get out your violin, folks. I’m whining! There is a good reason, of course (isn’t there always a good reason, even though we all know damn-well whining doesn’t do a bit of good?) I can hear you all asking, “Awww, what’s wrong?” In a nutshell: I’m pooped. And as the old adage goes, “there’s no rest for the weary.” In fact, there’s no rest in sight for a good long while. I’ve successfully done it again. Overbooked, over committed, spread too thin. And you know what? I can hear the world responding too me, saying “tough noogies, my dear!” Posted in Uncategorized by Carter : May 1, 2008 - 9:11pm |
