Playing with Purple! And a new necklace needs a name.

I’ve been having fun of late playing with various shades of purple! If you’ve picked up a fashion magazing lately, you’ve seen the popularity of the shade. Over on etsy, a search for the word “purple” brings up over 81,000 results!

    Think out side the box

I feel ya on the total lack of a good purple. It drives me nuts!! Grrrr. It also seems impossible to photograph too. Your top two photos look blue to me. They always look completely different under natural light.

As for a name for the last necklace… “Being Spotted”

Very cool disks - they look like flying saucers.
As for the unnamed one, it immediately reminded me of a group of Dalamtians….so, “Funky Dalmatians”.

    Hi Carter,

    wonderful new pieces.
My idea for the unnamed one:
    Happy Day.

I LOVE Purple Gobstoppers. Gorgeous. I’m afraid I can’t resist naming games, so I’m going to go ahead and leave one, too: Chromatic Safari. Or Geometric Safari. Maybe I’ve been playing with my son’s toys for too long but the dots and stripes remind me completely of animal prints, and, of course, my toddler has been learning his shapes recently… (In short, it would probably be difficult to keep him away from this necklace…)

I love purple too, but its HARD to find good purple beads. i wonder if it has something to do with the gold used to color the glass?

Anyway, these are gorgeous. The last one-LOVE the explosion of colors, like a mad painter going crazy, so I would name it “Dali’s Paint Covered Floor” or maybe “Spottie is a Hottie” LOL

  8. Erin Prais-Hintz Says:

I name all my pieces, too!
    How about “Urban Safari”
or “Seuss-tastic” (it reminds me of his illustrations)
    or “Crayola Jungle”
And “You Can Run But You Can’t Hide” (not in this necklace anyway!)
Good luck - I look forward to checking back to see what you end up naming it!
    Enjoy the day! Erin
